Purchasing is one of NCC’s top priorities to secure long-term success.  As an integrated business partner, we are key players to win and deliver profitable construction projects.  

We're seeking our new Fleet Manager, a proactive and strategic-minded individual, to take the wheel in driving development initiatives and projects according to our strategic direction and roadmap.

Your role  

You'll be at the forefront of negotiations with suppliers, leveraging your expertise to secure optimal deals and drive cost efficiencies. Acting as the go-to authority on all things Fleet, you'll serve as a competence center, providing insights and guidance to colleagues across the organization. You will be part of the Nordic Fleet & Machinery Team within Group Purchasing.

Your main tasks will be: 

  • Foster trust and cultivate relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Present clear plans and demonstrate progress, showcasing business value to key stakeholders at both Group and Business Area levels.
  • Lead Fleet improvement initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring tangible results.
  • Engage in discussions about Fleet specifics with Operations personnel, ensuring alignment and understanding.
  • Stay abreast of evolving Fleet regulations and requirements to ensure compliance and proactive adaptation.
  • Navigate seamlessly between detailed and aggregated perspectives, effectively addressing both micro and macro-level considerations.

Your profile  

To complement our team, we’d like to see that you have strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, capturing feedback, needs and conditions, and translating those into clear backlog channel. 

As we’re expected to realize value both in the short and long term, you need to alternate effortlessly between details and a holistic view in your reflections and discussions, and between solving problems for urgent problems and being persistent in major development bets. 

You have a business-driven mindset, quickly understanding our different business logics as well as the broader business objectives. You create a direction for the fleet area that clearly connects to overall strategic goals. Our journey ahead needs a structured yet learning-focused approach, making traits like being proactive, showing no fear for change or making mistakes, and curiously exploring new technologies and their beneficial adaptations.  

Requirements specification 

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or equivalent 
  • Proven experience as a Fleet Manager in a larger company
  • Knowledge in Fleet regulations and requirements
  • Appreciated self-leadership skills, including collectively defining and executing a Fleet strategy and identifying, creating, and leveraging collaboration with both business and colleagues 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management is a strong merit 
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian, with excellent communication and presentation skills.

Additional information  

This position is in Oslo. The position may require travelling, although we do apply a flexible way of working and strive to collaborate digitally as much as possible. In accordance with NCCs safety culture we conduct background checks on final candidates.
