Director of Market Development, International Energy

As Director of Market Development, you will work closely with management in the Energy Division in Norway and the managers of our international subsidiaries. You will play a key role in growing our international renewable energy business activity. One of the prioritized market areas is hydropower. Your main tasks will be to:

  • develop and implement market and project acquisition strategy outside the Nordic countries, mainly South-East Asia and Africa
  • develop client relations and follow up key clients and projects
  • develop strategic partner relationships
  • coordinate market activity with the Energy Division management in Norway and the managers of our international subsidiaries

You will report to Vice President International Energy. You may be based either in Sandvika, Norway, or in one of our international locations. Extensive international travel will be required. Working language will be English. If based in Norway, proficiency in Norwegian or a Scandinavian language is advantageous.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following:

  • first or higher university degree
  • an influential communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with a wide variety of clients, stakeholders and partners at all levels
  • ability to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
  • a good understanding of the energy sector in general
  • extensive renewable energy experience, preferably within hydropower and project development
  • experience with the Norwegian hydropower design philosophy is advantageous
  • experience from working in the international energy market, primarily experience from the South-East Asian market
  • extensive international network within the international energy market
